Paris, Then and Now: Hotel Meurice
1 Comments Published by Cedric Benetti on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 at 2/16/2010 12:57:00 AM.With the redecoration of the Hotel Meurice, Starck signed yet another place of gilded hyperopulence, this time gone a bit too far, by actually hiding away the breathtakingly luminous glass ceiling in the main foyer under a heavy and dark colored ceiling painting executed by his daughter Ara, in a style that is more than just dubious and uninspired.
Also, this glorious space with its old world charms has been turned into a sorta restaurant, where the blingy blondes can strut their donatella-versace'esque figures.

It could have been worse; they cold have demolished the glass ceiling completely to create this new ceiling 'wonder'...

Bonjour! Cedric,
Cedric said,"It could have been worse; they could have demolished the glass ceiling completely to create this new ceiling 'wonder'...
Oh! yes, I quite agree with you, but I must admit that ceiling is still very...beautiful.
Even though the breathtakingly luminous glass ceiling would have been better off not being..."hidden."
Merci de partager!
