Vintage Charms of the United Nations
2 Comments Published by Cedric Benetti on Sunday, July 26, 2009 at 7/26/2009 04:23:00 AM.Some call it 'vintage charming, others 'desperately in need of a renovation'. The UN headquarters building's interiors haven't been much updated since they were unveiled in 1950.
The complex is in need of an extensive renovation, including the need to install sprinklers, fix leaks, and remove asbestos. A $1 billion renovation has been taking place since fall 2007, the first since the complex opened, and is expected to take about 7 years to complete.

Bonjour! Cedric,
Wow...Thanks, for showing the U.N.
"Upclose" and "Personal" ...Speaking of, the U.N...I'am fan of director Alfred Hitchcock, and this building was featured prominently in his 1959 film North by Northwest
and it has not been updated since...Good grief!
Merci, for sharing!
